Cleaning required

The following areas should be checked and cleaned to maintain the machine's performance.

Loop amplifier - clean with a dry or damp cloth.

Main body - clean with a dry cloth

Shroud - clean with a dry cloth or soft brush.

Refit the loop amplifier

Remove loop amplifier and refit it ensuring that there is no uneven gap between the Loop and the Main body.

                   

Has refitting the loop amplifier resolved the problem?

Check fan feet

The blue tape used during transit should be removed before use.

Ensure all the feet are attached to the base of the machine.

                   

Place the fan on a flat, non-slip surface.

Ensure correct button on remote is being pressed.

ON/OFF.

                   

Oscillation On/Off.

                   

Point the remote directly at the front of the machine while pressing the button.

Loosen the base and pull it away from the remote.

Replace the battery with type CR 2032.

Does the airspeed change using the controls on the machine?

IEC 60879 Performance and construction of electric and circulating fans and regulators states that the distance over which a fans airflow is felt should exceed three times its width. Dyson AM06/7/8 far surpasses this requirement.

Test airspeed

Turn the airflow control to maximum.

                   

Hold a sheet of newspaper approximately 1.5 meters (4.5') away from the product.

The paper should lift beyond 45 degrees.

Does the newspaper lift beyond 45 degrees?

Check and clean machine

The following areas should be checked and cleaned to maintain the machine's performance.

Loop amplifier

Clean with a dry or damp cloth.

Ensure that the narrow opening is free of obstructions.

Main body

Clean the shroud with a dry cloth.

Use a soft brush to clear any blockages from the holes.

Check the electrics

Check that the household electrics are on.

                   

Check the plug and power cord for signs of damage.

Try the machine in a different plug socket.

Unplug the machine and leave it for 10 seconds.

Error code

If your machine displays an error code please turn the power off and unplug the machine for 60 seconds.

                   

Please repeat this process up to 3 times if your machine displays an F4 error.

Plug the machine back in and retest.

                   

Has turning the fan on and off resolved the problem?

Fit the base

Align the arrows.

                   

Twist the Main body of the machine clockwise until it clicks and locks.

                   

Fit the loop amplifier

Lower the loop amplifier onto the base, aligning the arrows.

                   

Once aligned, turn the loop amplifier clockwise to lock.

Is the loop now attached?

Check for obstructions

Remove the loop amplifier from the telescope stand.

WARNING: Do not stand on the base.

                   

Check the opening on the base of the loop for blockages.

Hold the Main body firmly and twist the telescope stand assembly anti-clockwise to unlock.

                   

Check the telescope stand assembly for damage or obstructions.

                   

Check the seal is fitted and seated correctly.

                   

Try to fit the loop again.

Has clearing away any obstructions resolved the problem?

Try the controls on the machine.

                   

Press the button to turn the machine on or off.

Hold the button to change the airflow.

Assemble the machine

Lower the Main body onto the base, aligning the arrows.

                   

Turn the base clockwise until it clicks into place.

                   

Lower the loop amplifier onto the base, aligning the arrows.

                   

Once aligned, turn the loop amplifier clockwise to lock.

The remote control can be magnetically attached to the top of the loop.

Using controls on the machine

Press the Standby button on the appliance to turn ON/OFF.

                   

Press and hold the Standby button on the appliance to adjust the airflow.

Airflow will increase to a maximum before decreasing.

The oscillation and timer functions cannot be operated without the remote control.

Power

To operate, point the remote control toward the front of the base and press the standby ON/OFF button. Alternatively, press the standby ON/OFF button on the Main body.

                   

Attach the remote control to the top of the machine with the buttons facing down.

Oscillation

Toggle oscillation on or off with the remote.

                   

Airflow

Airflow can be set by the airflow buttons on the remote.

                   

Airflow can also be set on the machine. Press and hold the power button to roll through settings 1 to 10.

Timer

To set the sleep timer, select the desired time. When the time reaches zero, the appliance will go into standby mode. To cancel, reduce the time until two dashes appear.
