Airflow selection
The level of sound from your appliance will vary depending on the airflow selected. To decrease the airflow, press the 'Airflow control' button until you have 1 white LED light.

Regular filter maintenance
Clean your filter regularly to maintain powerful airflow and keep your hair dryer performing at its best. We recommend cleaning twice a week, or when the LED flashes continuously.
Step 1
Unplug your machine from the mains electricity supply and allow to cool before cleaning your filter. Remove the filter cage by sliding down the power cord and opening at the split line.

Step 2
Use a soft toothbrush or C-brush to gently clean the filter mesh. Don't use chemicals or water.

Step 3
Gently pull the filter parts in opposite directions.

Step 4
To clean the filter cage, wipe away debris and gently tap to remove lodged dirt.
Step 5
Rinse both filter parts under warm running water.

Step 6
Apply a pea-sized amount of clarifying shampoo to your finger and lightly scrub the filter fabric. Rinse for 20 seconds, until all shampoo is removed.

Step 7
Gently pinch the filter fabric dry using a paper towel.

Step 8
Allow to air-dry thoroughly before re-joining the filter parts and clipping them back on the machine.

Airflow control
The direction of airflow from the Dyson Supersonic hair dryer is from the opposite side to the controls.
To increase the airflow, press the 'Airflow control' button on the back of the appliance until you have three white LED lights. The available settings are:
One white light - Gentle (styling)

Two white lights - Medium (regular drying)

Three white lights - Fast (fast drying)

If this has not resolved the problem, remove the filter cage from the machine.

Hold the handle of your machine and pull the filter unit downwards and onto the cable.

Gently pull open the filter unit and slide it off the cable.

Temperature
The Dyson Supersonic™ hair dryer is intelligent. It has a clever microprocessor which regulates temperature to help prevent extreme heat damage to protect natural shine. The maximum operating temperature in normal working conditions is up to 105°C/221°F.
To increase the temperature, press the 'Temperature control' button on the back of the appliance until you have three red LED lights. The available settings are:
One red light - low gentle drying

Two red lights - Medium 80°C/176°F (regular drying)

Three red lights - High (100°C) Fast drying and styling.

How to replace the filter cover
Make sure you unplug your machine from the mains electricity supply and allow it to cool down before replacing your filter unit.

Hold the handle of your machine and pull the filter unit downwards and onto the cable.

Gently pull open the filter unit and slide it off the cable.
