Nine reasons to wash your hard floors with the Dyson WashG1™ wet cleaner
Traditionally, cleaning your hard floors with a mop and bucket used to be an arduous task. But the Dyson WashG1™ – our first dedicated wet cleaner – offers powerful, hygienic floor washing. We explore the machine’s benefits and why it’s the answer to cleaning hard floors all around your home.
1. Removes dry and wet dirt in one go
Instead of using suction power to vacuum up wet and dry messes, the Dyson WashG1™ uses two highly absorbent motorised rollers to powerfully remove spills, debris, hair, and dried-on stains. Our unique system automatically separates debris from dirty water – for hygienic, no-touch disposal. Extraction plates squeeze out dirty water into the Dirty water tank while high speed, nylon-bristled brushes remove debris, dirt, and hair as you clean.
2. Easy, cordless cleaning
Washing floors with the Dyson WashG1™ is not only effective but also efficient. The process requires less time and effort compared to traditional methods – there’s no scrubbing on your hands and knees or using kitchen towels to wipe up spills. The machine is also easy to manoeuvre – effortlessly gliding forwards and backwards, reaching low under furniture and into awkward spaces. The click-in battery gives up to 35 minutes of cordless run time and an LCD screen lets you monitor and control your cleaning.
3. Lifts stubborn stains
Accidents happen, and stains are an inevitable part of life. Thankfully, the Dyson WashG1™ is effective when it comes to tackling stubborn stains on hard floors – whether it's meal-time mess and sticky spills on kitchen floors or muddy boot prints in hallways. A combination of continuous clean water and spinning, microfibre rollers break down and lift stains that traditional mopping might miss.
4. Always uses clean water
Washing your hard floors used to involve the water getting dirtier and dirtier every time you put the mop back into the bucket. But with the Dyson WashG1™, clean and dirty water are kept apart in separate tanks. 26 hydration points ensure that water is evenly applied across the rollers, so clean water is added to your floors from start to finish. A full one litre clean water tank covers up to 290m².
5. Cleans multiple surfaces
The Dyson WashG1™ cleans hard floors all around your home and thanks to its coverage, it’s particularly useful when it comes to cleaning large spaces. The wet cleaner is ideal for tiles, vinyl, laminate and sealed wooden floors in your hall, kitchen, bathroom, and dining area.
6. Leaves a clean finish
Whereas traditional wet cleaning methods may leave behind marks and streaks, the Dyson WashG1™ is engineered to absorb, extract, and leave your floor with a clean finish. This makes the machine ideal for households aiming to achieve what’s known as a “barefoot clean” – a term used to describe the process of cleaning floors to a level of cleanliness that’s safe for walking barefoot.
7. Hydration modes to suit your clean
The machine’s adjustable cleaning modes tackle all kinds of dirt and stains. You can control the hydration before or during cleaning, and choose your mode based on the type of mess you’re looking to remove. Each mode has an extra three sensitivity settings to fine tune them to your individual cleaning needs, plus a boost mode for those extra-tough stains.
8. Self-cleaning while charging
In just 140 seconds, the Dyson WashG1™ Self-clean cycle flushes the whole system with clean water, preventing the build-up of dirt. And all while it charges on the dock. Then all you need to do following floor washing and self-cleaning is empty the Dirty water tank, ready for next time.
9. Simple, hygienic maintenance
Cleaning of the machine and its washable parts is straightforward and hygienic thanks to quick release mechanisms and no-touch disposal. Debris is collected in a removable tray and if a deeper clean is needed, all parts are easy to remove for washing or wiping. For example, the Dirty water tank, clean water tank, Debris tray, rollers, and Debris brush bars can be washed in a sink using warm water and detergent.
