Plug the machine back in and retest.

Has this resolved the problem?

Check the machine

The heater is fitted with automatic cut-out switches that operate if the heater tips over or overheats. If the cut-out operates, unplug the heater and allow it to cool.

Has this resolved the problem?

This issue can occur if the machine is running and the power is cut e.g. plug pulled out, power cut etc.

To reset the machine, turn the power off (using either the power button on the remote or the Main body), wait 60 seconds and then turn back on.

Plug the machine back in and retest.

WARNING: Do not use polish or detergent on any part of the machine.

Has this resolved the problem?

Machine is working normally

This is completely normal.

The machine will run very slowly when in idle mode to keep air flowing over the thermostat so it can constantly regulate the temperature of the air.

This is a characteristic of the product and cannot be resolved with an exchange or return to base repair.

There is no safety concern.

If the noise is intrusive, switching the machine off at the wall will stop the noise, or altering the position of the product in the room might make the noise less audible.

Is there anything else we can help you with?

Do not use polish or detergent on any part of the machine.

Turn machine off

Please turn the machine off and back on again.

Has turning the machine off and on resolved the problem?

Enable Cooling mode

Unlike the AM04/AM05 the AM09 does not need to be set to 0°C to enable cooling mode.

Turn the machine on.

To turn the heater off and use cool air mode press the BLUE Thermostat Control button. The power button light on the main body will change from red to blue.

Change the airflow speed using the Airflow Speed Control.

NB: The fan speed setting is between 1-10.

Has using the blue thermostat button and changing the airflow resolved the problem?

Retry machine at 37°C/99°F

1) On/Off 2) Cooling mode 3) Airflow speed 4) Heating control 5) Sleep timer 6) Oscillation 7) Focused mode 8) Diffused mode

The power button will turn red for Heating mode.

Each time heating mode is selected the machine conducts a short calibration cycle, during this the airflow will be automatically controlled, once the cycle is complete it will revert to the selected airflow speed.

Has this resolved the problem?

Test oscillation

Before switching on, please make sure the fan is positioned so that the airflow or oscillation is not obstructed.

Oscillating range

The machine should oscillate within 70 degrees from one side to another.

Does the machine oscillate outside of this range?

Has this resolved the issue?

Checking oscillation

The AM09 has a one touch smooth oscillation action.

When in oscillation mode the machine will temporarily stop oscillating when any of the control buttons are pressed.

If the oscillation doesn't work carry out the following checks:

Check the feet are attached correctly

Check the six feet on the base of the Main body are present and clean.

If the heater is placed on a low friction surface, e.g. highly polished or oily, the Main body may slide.

Has this resolved the problem?

Unscrew the remote control's battery compartment.

Loosen the base and pull it away from the remote. Replace the battery with type CR 2032.

Has this resolved the problem?

Oscillation speed

The machine should take approximately 4 seconds to oscillate from one side to the other.

Does the machine oscillate outside of this speed?

Test the oscillation button on the remote

Ensure correct button on remote is being pressed to adjust the oscillation.

Test the other buttons on the remote

1) On/Off 2) Cooling mode 3) Airflow speed 4) Heating control 5) Sleep timer 6) Oscillation 7) Focused mode 8) Diffused mode

Has this resolved the problem?

Target temperature explanation

The temperature set on the machine is the target temperature of the room, not the temperature of the fan.

The temperature from the fan when in heating mode will not change.

Has this resolved the problem?

The use of an extension cable is not recommended.

Reduced airflow

When using heating mode, the machine is working harder to both heat and circulate the air. Whilst doing so, the machine intelligently monitors the current drawn so it doesn't trip the domestic circuit.

The machine will prioritise heating the air, so you may find the airflow feels reduced in heating mode.

Has this resolved the problem?
